Hoorn & Reniers International contemporary art · Amsterdam

Hoorn & Reniers works with a small group of painters and draughtsmen whose practice keeps returning to the figure.

We show new work throughout the year, and give each artist the room to be seen properly.

On paper

Peter Feiler, Robin von Einsiedel, Inge Aanstoot, Myra de Vries, Emeli Theander & Kevin A. Rausch

On view · 10 July – 30 August 2026

A group show built entirely around works on paper — drawing, gouache, watercolour and a few things that sit between them. Some of these sheets are studies that never became paintings; others were always meant to stand on their own. Seen together, they show how the artists think before the canvas gets involved.

Casper Verborg — Solo

New paintings

On view next · 13 September – 25 October 2026

Verborg's first solo presentation with the gallery. The new paintings push his figures further into ambiguity — half-recognisable people caught in rooms that refuse to settle. Faces dissolve and reassemble depending on how long you stand there. It is uneasy work, and it rewards patience.

A close programme, followed over time.

Hoorn & Reniers opened as a space for contemporary figurative painting and works on paper. We are not interested in movements or labels.

We would rather show ten paintings well than fifty badly.

Artists

The gallery represents eight artists working mainly in painting, drawing and sculpture. Their styles have little in common on the surface, but each takes the human figure as a starting point and treats it as something worth arguing with. We follow the work closely and show it as often as it is ready.

Catalogues & editions

We make modest catalogues for most of our solo shows, printed in short runs and put together in close consultation with the artist. They are meant to be read and kept, not left on a shelf. Recent titles document the Casper Verborg solo and the On paper group show.

Alongside the catalogues we release the occasional signed edition or print. Runs are small and usually sell through quickly. If you would like to hear when something new comes out, write to us and we will add you to the list.
